Sclerotherapy is a safe and effective treatment for varicose and spider veins that is fast with minimal down time. Spider Veins and feeder veins that are collapsed on the surface of the skin are often bothersome, can make one self conscious and uncomfortable.
How does Sclerotherapy work?
Veins are injected with a treatment (Polidocanol) that can safely collapse the ineffective vessel, later to be cleared from the tissue by the body through metabolism. More than one treatment may be necessary for optimal results. Sclerotherapy may not prevent future varicose and spider veins from developing, but is a convenient treatment option for existing varicose and spider veins.

Is it Safe?
Sclerotherapy is a safe treatment option for spider veins and varicose veins. Not for use in those on blood thinners, active infections in treatment area or pregnancy. Allergic reaction in highly unlikely.
Can I return to regular activities?
Activity is encouraged immediately following injections, however vigorous exercise/running/weight lifting should be avoided for 2 weeks. Compression stockings will need to worn immediately following injections for the first two weeks to insure optimal results.
How Long does it last?
Upon initial injection, the vessel will fully disappear and will likely regain color in 1-2 months requiring a second treatment. At times one treatment is adequate, however planning for 2 treatments along with use of compression stockings insures best results.
